Vineyards

The Manchester Ridge Vineyard is perched at 2,000 feet of elevation just west of Anderson Valley along the Pacific Ocean. It’s located at the top of the Pacific Coast mountain range, just above the fog line. There is a notable maritime influence and Goldridge soils that impart a striking tension and mineral quality to wines grown there. 100% Pinot Noir.

Winemaking

The grapes were harvested at 19 brix, macerated for 3 hours on the skins and fermented in stainless steel. The wine was aged in barrel for 6 months before bottling for secondary fermentation. It was aged 6 months in bottle before we disgorged it by hand.

Tasting Notes

Raspberry, Blood Orange Peel, Lemon Verbena

What’s In a Name?
The Long Goodbye is Robert Altman’s 1973 adaptation of Raymond Chandler’s detective novel of the same name. It’s a sprawling mess of a film, chock full of Altman’s signature overlapping dialogue and circular plot twists.

It doesn’t have anything to do with the movie, but we secretly chose this name because we grew up in the midwest, and the Minnesota Goodbye is real. One minute you think you’re leaving a party, the next you’re diving headlong into a new conversation. This fresh sparkler is as good a reason as any to stay for just one more glass at the barbecue. Tastes like raspberry, blood orange peel, and lemon verbena.
